The Bridge Program: Burlington High School
We know the beginning of the year can be tough as academic demands increase. If your child is forgetful or disorganized, their iphone (or any smartphone) can be a great and easy tool to help them stay on top of
assignments! Below are some ways your teen’s phone can help he/she stay organized:
Evernote: Your teen can jot notes, take down instructions, and create simple to-do lists. The app syncs everything between your phone, tablet, and computer automatically.
Alarm: Not only can the alarm app be used to wake up in the morning for school, it can also be labeled and set throughout the day to serve as reminders for your teen. Reminders can be set to finish a homework assignment, get a permission slip signed, buy something at the store, etc.
IntervalMinder: The Interval Minder is an interval timer that when set will alert your teen continuously for a fixed or varied time interval. A screen flash, vibrate, or tone can be used as the subtle alert. If your teen tends to lose focus or get lost in her/his own thoughts, the IntervalMinder can be a good tool to help refocus.
Calendar: Not only is the Calendar app on their cellphones helpful to keep track of events, due dates, or appointments, simple “to-do” apps or reminder apps such as Wunderlist or Remember the Milk can be used to create lists that are organized by task, time, and location. These particular apps can link to email, tablet, and computer as well.
